I decided that I wanted to do a test shoot to see how much time would be needed to get my composition correct. However whilst out I found that (even though I had the old image with me) it was difficult to know whether you had got a similar composition. You will not know until you go back and place the images side by side.
I only photographed at a few of the places, these being Swanswell Park, The Cathedral, Hales Street, The Church Yard and Swanswell Gate. Here is a contact sheet of all my images.
As you can see, I have had to take multiple images of the same structure. Some vary with different angles and placement so I have a wider variety to work with when attempting to match the old with the new. Now that I have some images to work with, I am going to do some research regarding merging photographs together as it is not something that I am hugely familiar with.
